I wished to show summer reading program near Little Rock - AR state you a little bit about why we developed our summertime checking out program.
For me, it was because of my students.
Throughout the years of mentor in my private knowing center, moms and dads would bring their kids to me that were behind in reading and spelling.

In some cases they were just a little bit behind, in some cases they were way behind, and sometimes they were at grade level and simply wished to advance faster.
Sometimes this was because the trainees had discovering problems like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was merely since the instructors did not teach all of the specific skills needed to read.
There is a science-proven, detailed way that all kids can succeed with reading. Unfortunately, teachers themselves typically are not taught how to teach kids in this method.

The problem was that I was just able to see them for an hour at a time and only twice a week.
How could I get these students' abilities up while not just offering a band-aid solution?

The program does take some participation from a moms and dad for grades K-2, but for grades 3-8, many kids can do most activities in the program on their own.
